Description: The Certified Pest Control manager will be responsible for properly mixing and applying herbicides, fungicides, or insecticides to trees, turf, and shrubs and training. Manages and oversees the workflow of the Plant Health Care department and ensures the department operates efficiently. Responsible for providing and demonstrating task instructions to the sprayer technician.
Requirements:
- Three (3) years of chemical application regulations, policies, and techniques.
- Certified Pest Control License with the State of Florida
- Must have the appropriate knowledge of the State and Federal laws, rules, regulations, and statutes related to the use of pesticides and equipment.
- Must have exceptional knowledge of shrubs, trees, annual flowers, and other specimen plants in the South Florida region.
- Proven experience as a supervisor or in a relevant role.
- Ability to operate various spray equipment.
- Skill in the precise mixing and application of chemicals.
- Communication skills with clients and our team members are vital.
- Exceptional computer and typing skills.
- Possess or ability to learn multiple software applications.
- Must have a valid Florida License and must be insurable on the company’s insurable policy
Essential Duties Include, but not limited to:
- Must maintain all required paperwork by The State of Florida to remain compliant.
- Responsible for performing inspections and quality assurance reviews to ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and company policies.
- Performs and monitors the scheduled pest control treatment of job sites, while maintaining compliance with agricultural and structural pesticide laws and regulations.
- Maintains Vision Landscapes exceptional quality standards and ensures ongoing quality on our client’s properties in Collier County and Southern Lee County.
- Responsible for performing the fieldwork on the client’s property that’s assigned on a daily basis.
- Ensures contract compliance.
- Assists in the development, implementation, and achievement of the company’s annual budget goals, training, and strategic plan.
- Responsible for supervising, and managing the workflow of the sprayer technician, creating the schedule, and delegating tasks.
- Responsible for keeping records and producing reports that will be used to review team performance.
- Represent Vision Landscapes in a professional and customer service-oriented manner.
- Attend business-related meetings.
- Thoroughly understands and complies with company policies, procedures, and SOP’s.
- Enforce Vision Landscape’s policies and practices.
- Participate in team efforts that might be outside of the job description.
- Safety:
- Participates as a member of the company Safety Committee.
- Ensures that all safety procedures are followed and reports any unsafe conditions to supervisors.
- Ensures all accidents are properly documented and reported immediately.
- Ensures all workers’ compensation insurance claims are properly documented and reported immediately.
- Ensures that all equipment is operated safely and properly.
- Provide a safe and positive work environment for all employees including safety tailgate meetings.
- Enforce Vision Landscapes safety program.
- Training:
- Effectively train sprayer technician and field crew members.

Travel: Travel is required. Primarily local during the business day. Operates a company vehicle.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time salaried position.
Physical Demands of the position: The position involves regular, and at times sustained, the performance of heavier physical tasks such as walking over rough or uneven surfaces, bending, stooping, and lifting or carrying moderately heavy (20-50 lbs.) items occasionally very heavy (100 pounds or over) items; or may involve the complex operation of gasoline, electric or diesel-powered machinery or shop equipment requiring the manipulation of multiple controls, fine adjustments or both. Position requires color, sound, odor, depth, texture, and visual perception and discrimination. Also requires oral communication ability. Ability to work under adverse weather conditions (Cold-Heat) Noise level: Varies from the office environment to landscape machinery.
